Boring but honest page
Editorial standards
How a pick lands here, what we refuse to do, and how to flag a broken row.
How products are selected
One problem, one SKU we would plausibly send a tired friend toward. Verdict lines come from the same source as the homepage grid so the site cannot argue with itself.
- We bias toward fewer tabs, clearer fit, and less “ranking table” theater.
- Taxonomy tags describe the buyer situation, not SEO spam.
- We do not claim hands-on lab testing unless we actually did it—and we do not run a lab.
What gets rejected
- Pages that need three winners to appease advertisers.
- Copy that invents specs, star ratings, or “we tested 40 units” fairy tales.
- Listings that look like the wrong product, wrong model, or franken-bundle—those rows get fixed or pulled.
Listings change
Amazon and other retailers swap photos, titles, and sellers without sending a memo. Before you buy, check seller, model number, return window, and current price on the live page.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links earn us a commission. That does not change what you pay. We keep one pick per page so commissions cannot turn the page into a bracket chart.
Corrections and mismatches
If the title, image, and checkout SKU disagree, use the retailer’s help flow first. If our page points at the wrong ASIN, email [email protected] with the pick URL and what looks wrong.
